Troubleshooting
The problems that actually come up, and what to do about each.
Windows blocks the download or the first run
Expected for a new application without SmartScreen reputation. See Install. Verify the hash, then More info ▸ Run anyway.
It says Offline
The top bar shows ○ Offline when the market data connection is down. It reconnects on its own. Prices on screen are the last ones received, so treat them as stale until it says ● Live again. If it stays offline, check whether a VPN, corporate firewall or antivirus is blocking the connection.
The market list is empty or shows an error
The sidebar reports what went wrong rather than showing a blank list:
- Network error — markets could not be reached
- Market load timed out
- The market service returned an error
- No open markets right now — nothing is wrong; there is nothing open
The first three are worth a retry. The status line at the bottom of the sidebar also tells you how old the data on screen is.
I forgot my app password
It cannot be recovered or reset — it never leaves your PC, and there is no server that has ever seen it. If you have your recovery phrase or private key, import the wallet again and choose a new app password. If you have neither, the funds are not reachable, by anyone.
This is the reason to write the recovery phrase on paper before depositing.
My deposit has not arrived
- Confirm the transfer is confirmed on the sending side.
- Confirm you sent the token and network you selected on the deposit screen. A mismatch is the usual cause.
- Give it a few more minutes — crediting follows network confirmation.
- Check whether the amount was below the minimum for that token. A transfer under the minimum can sit unconverted rather than arriving.
The amount that arrived is less than I sent
Expected in two cases, neither of them a fee this application charges: the network fee your sending exchange took, and a conversion spread if what you sent is not the token the account settles in. Sending USDC on Polygon avoids the second.
A number here differs slightly from Polymarket's own page
Sizes can differ by rounding in the venue's model. Figures shown together on one screen will always agree with each other; if two figures on the same screen contradict, that is a bug worth reporting.
An order will not cancel
An order that has already been matched cannot be cancelled. Cancel-all (x) pulls everything still working; anything left after that has been filled.
Clearing the cache and resetting
Two controls in Settings → Data cover almost everything you would otherwise be tempted to fix by deleting files by hand:
- Clear cached market data — markets, icons and league lists. All of it is downloaded again, so nothing is lost. Try this first for a stale or misbehaving market list.
- Reset layout and settings — layout, preferences and local trade history. It asks you to confirm. Your wallets, recovery phrases and balances are not touched.
Both take effect the next time you start the application, because the files they remove are in use while it is running. Until you restart, the same button undoes the request.
There is no single "reset everything" button, deliberately. Wallets are removed one at a time, from the wallet list in Settings.
Settings → Data → Open data folder opens the folder where all of this is kept, if you need to look inside or take a backup. It holds your encrypted wallet vaults alongside the cache and your settings. rungterminal_debug.log sits next to the executable instead.
